Green and red painted 19th Century wooden bench with original paint. With a lovely simple design and spindled back rail and splayed legs. This bench originates from Austria and dates from before 1890. This bench has so much character and such a lovely colour and folk art charm to it. The bench has its original paint layers exposed which give its a great desirable look. It’s simple and primitive design make a great option for kitchens, hallways or other larger living spaces.
In good sturdy condition with some age related wear to the paint which adds to the overall character. This wear has created a fantastic patina to the bench. Any loose parts have been reglued and any woodworm has been fully treated. The bench has been brushed clean to remove any flaky loose painted and then waxed to give a nice shine and protection to the original paint.
