Ercol model 439 compact and stylish mid-century writing desk made of solid elm on tapered beech legs. Designed by Lucian Ercolani and made by Ercol in High Wycombe in the 1950s. This is manufactured to the highest standards using traditional methods with the exposed intricate dovetail joints. These are a an Ercol trademark and they run on the side panels and compliment the distinctively grained elm. This desk is in the light finish, a desirable and much sought-after iconic Ercol item.
This lovely desk is in extremely good condition. The legs on this desk are in very good order and show a very small amount of wear. The top is also very clean. The original finish has held up extremely well. The desk has been completely refinished with light coloured wax polish to give the desk unit a deep shine and protection.
