Rare G Plan Fresco console/side table. A Victor Wilkins design.
The Fresco range was launched in around 1967, and soon became G Plan’s most popular range . It ended up being their most successful design ever, however, these tables turn up very seldom. This model was in the G Plan 1968 catalogue but was only short lived and there weren’t many produced. This lovely mid century console sideboard has very nice grains and minimal styling along with a very practical symmetrical layout. There table has two drawers and stunning long solid afromosia tapered legs. This has great proportions, stunning design and top quality craftsmanship. This all adds up to a stunning console table that will make a great impact to anyone’s retro themed home.
This console side table is in stunning vintage condition, the sideboard has been cleaned back and finished with multiple layers of Osmo hard wax oil. As with most mid century furniture, there will be signs of prior use, but nothing to detract from how fabulous this sideboard looks. There is very minimal signs of use and only noticeable defect is the slight light marks to the top. Overall this is a high 8.5 out of 10 for Condition. This is an impressive looking and well built peice of original mid century furniture.
