This is a unusual but very stylish item from Finland. This is a modular shelving unit that can have the shelves moved and arrange to suit. This unit is made from a pine veneer and a white coated wood. This combination has created a fresh light look that’s very Scandinavian in style. This cabinet is made by Jalmari Vaara Ov And is stamped made in Finland on the base units. We guess this dates from around the 1970s and is not like most other Scandinavian furniture which is normally teak or rosewood. The build quality is reasonable and can stand free standing (although recommended that this is fixed to the wall). The unit cosists of two base units with sliding doors and storag compartments and eight removable and height adjusting shelves. (Top two have to be fitted in the position as the photos). Very unusual but very nice display cabinet with lots of storage and display sections.
The item has been cleaned and lightly wax polished all over. The pine veneer is in good condition and shows some small splits to the bottom of the side supports. There are some wear spots and marks to the white shelves and base units. Overall a 7.5 out of 10 for condition. Very nice vintage item in pretty good condition. Any major marks or defects will be highlighted in the pictures.
