A lovely afromosia bedside cabinet manufactured by White & Newton. Circa 1960s.
Featuring afromosia veneers and sculpted handles and lovely reeded detail.
Designed by Arthur Edwards and from the Aston range in afromosia which is a dark teak used by some British makers in the early 1960s . These were Originally attached to a continental headboard they and have been adapted so they can be put next to a bed of any width. They have a strip of veneer replaced on the cut edge. Stunning iconic items that are exceptionally made.
They have been cleaned and rubbed back. They have then been refinished in oil and wax combination. This has given the tables a deep shine to the smooth teak grains and and enhanced the protection of the wood. They are in good condition and have been very well looked after. There is a feint white mark on one table top. Overall they are a 8 out of 10 for Condition and would make a stunning addition to anyone bedroom. The units are slightly different shades as one must have been in sunlight but is hard to notice if they are on opposite sides of a bed.
