This mid century chairs is a gorgeous 1970s repro of those produced by the Hungarian designer Marcel Breuer, a variation on his iconic Cesca cantilever chair. This chair has a good colour steel tubular frame, a beech wooden finish and a cane seat and backrest. This chair is stamped made in Italy and we have 3 in this rarer gold colour.
The Cesca Chair designed by Marcel Breuer, manufactured in Italy. The chair is in good vintage condition and is structurally sound. As one of the best-known chairs in the world, the Marcel Breuer’s cantilever chair designed in 1927 is another example of his fondness for tubular steel. The revolutionary in abandoning the traditional construction of a four-legs chair design, his design combining tubular steel construction with wooden frames for the seat and back became his greatest commercial success. The chair first came to the attention of consumers through cheap imitations. The chair was nicknamed Cesca after Breuer’s adopted daughter Francesca.
They have a couple of small signs of wear consistent with their age to the frames. One chair seat and back are in great fully intact condition with no damage. Overall clean condition and are a 8 out of 10 and this would make a lovely office chair or bedroom chair.
