Mid Century Turnidge of London chest of drawers
These chest of drawers are by the renowned British brand of Turnidge of London. They were known for there high quality retro furniture throughout the mid century, of which these chest of drawers are no exception. They are made to a very high standard and also have very nice minimal styling and a strong Scandinavian design influence. The plain drawers with the far spaced handles really set this off as a unusual and understated item. The teak veneer is quite light and has a very plain grain pattern. There are three large storage drawers and the unit has been put on top of 12” steel hairpin legs to give it a modern fresh look and a practical height of use.
The drawers have been rubbed and cleaned back. They have then been refinished with multiple layers of buffing wax to give a real deep shine to the light teak and give an extra enhancement to the original finish. There are a very clean example and show minimal wear. The drawers all run smoothly and have a heavy solid feel to them. The overall condition is a 8.5 out of 10 the top shows minimal fading and there is no significant marks or damage. Very nice set of original vintage furniture that will look at home in a contemporary or retro environment.
