A British John Herbert designed for A. Younger Ltd Teak `Fonseca` Sideboard. Designed as part of their award winning ‘Fonseca’ range this sideboard was produced in relatively low numbers so rarely comes to market. Beautifully simplistic design, constructed from solid teak & afromosia, the sideboard is incredibly well made as with all Younger furniture. Features stunning recessed handles two good sized cupboards and three drawers with the top drawer includes dividers and new red felt lining. Solid afromosia top, sides and structure, teak door and drawer fronts, attractive afromosia handles and the Younger label present.
Younger were renowned for their high quality workmanship and mainly retailed through the Department Store ‘Heals’. This example is a bit light compared to other darker tone examples.
The sideboard has been cleaned thoroughly. Then a oils and wax polish has been applied to refinish the sideboard. As you can see from the pictures the cabinet is in stunning condition. There are no loose parts or any damage. The sideboard shows little use and has been extremely well looked after. This is a stunning example of high end english furniture from the mid century. I would say that the condition is a high 8.5 out of 10. There are some dark spots shown in the picture and the top is very very clean.
