This military issue solid oak desk was constructed by Remploy and is very much indicative of the era with two smooth hidden drawers, neat, lightly angled legs and a coffee coloured leatherette top. These desks were purchased by local governments, councils, schools etc. mostly enjoying a commercial life rather than home. The desk has a very strong utilitarian design and feel that would make a wonderful statement in any home office.
The desk has been cleaned and rubbed back along with being refinished in a buffing wax. The desk is in good order with no major damage or any wobbles. The desk has a very nice patina and a lovely used worn look. The desk top shows marks and dents along with a small repaired chip on a drawer front. Overall the desk is a 7 out or 10. The desk has a great Industrial charm and style and is a very appealing ex military item.
