A very rare chest of drawers from the Limba range designed in 1960 by Leslie Dandy for G plan. This has the three sleek wide set drawers with angled metal handles. High quality limba wood veneer was used in the construction of this item. The drawers combine Limba, an African hardwood, with metal legs and handles described by G plan as “champagne-silver” colour. This range was only made for a short time so is now rare. The range has an industrial look. Combining wood and metal is right on trend today.
The item has been completely stripped cleaned and rubbed back and refinished with a layers or hard wax oil. This has enhanced the protection to the wood and given the limba grain a nice deep shine. The condition is extremely good with only the minimal marks and wear. It has been extremely well looked after. The overall condition is a 8.5 out of 10. This item shows Minimal wear and tare. Small split to veneer edge on bottom drawer. Shows. In pictures. Stunning drawers that would go well into a contemporary home or mid century themed house. As with most Mid Century items of furniture, there will be signs of prior use, surface scratches, fading etc. Please see photo’s for any obvious dents or knocks.
