A simple and elegant teak desk from the mid century. This desk has a curved design and made from light teak veneer. This desk is made by the Morris of Glasgow company and dates from around the early 1960s. The desk has a very nice symmetrical layout with two drawers and pull out writing shelf. Very practical design and also very stylish. It would be perfect desk for a home office or studio, and is really well made. The rear of he desk also looks good, so would look great in the middle of a room or office. The build quality is very good as with all Morris of Glasgow furniture and is set of wonderful teak legs with brass feet caps.
This desk has been thoroughly cleaned and rubbed back. It has been refinished with layers of water repellent hard wax oils. This enhances the grain and wood protection. There are signs of wear and marks to the top. There is a fade mark to the top and some filled dents. There is an ink mark to the desktop and some signs of wear but it’s a wonderfully, well made desk that will last plenty more years. There are some filled marks to one handle and any significant marks are shown in the pictures. Overall this desk is a 7.5 out of 10 and has been used but well looked after item from the 1960s.
