Stunning Teak desk from the British manufacture A. younger. As with most younger furniture this desk was produced in relatively low numbers so rarely comes to market. Beautifully simplistic design, constructed from solid teak with smooth teak veneer. the craftsmanship incredibly high and the desk features sleek drawers either side with solid brass pull handles. One side has two drawers and the other has a one larger drawer with a divider. The lock mechanism has been previously removed. The desk has a very slender elegant design that looks very classy and would fit into any home office area very well. We have not seen this model before and the item is stamped on the back and the Younger label present on the back of the drawer. Younger were renowned for their high quality workmanship and mainly retailed through the Department Store ‘Heals’. The desk has been cleaned thoroughly and rubbed back. Then it has been refinished with osmo hardwax oil to give a deep shine to the wood and very good protection. aAs you can see from the pictures the cabinet is in stunning condition. There are no loose parts, there is a start of a split on one leg which has been rectified and the desk is very strong and has little wobble. This is a stunning example of high end english furniture from the mid century. I would say that the condition is a high 8.5 out of 10. There are very minimal marks or wear to the desk and the top is very very clean.
