Original Parker Knoll 991 Ashby wing back chair. This dates from the 1970s and has a magnificent shape and style to it. It has a very strong Danish design influence and a slightly reclined back with raised arms. This chair has so much mid Century charm with the original plain velvet upholstery. The fabric is a rich deep ruby colour and is a very high grade velvet. It is becoming extremely hard to get hold of mid century Parker knoll chairs in great original condition. Parker Knoll’s build quality is second to none and this is a really well made chair with a strong vintage look.
The condition of the fabric is very good there are small rubs marks on the back edge either side near the wing. There are no rips or tears and has been very well looked after. The wood has been refinished and stained as it would have originally looked. I would say the overall condition is a 8.5 out of 10 with the fabric showing very little signs of use for age.
