Mid Century Vintage Military Tallboy Chest of Drawers Army Furniture US Airbase

This is an early example of mid century military issue furniture. This particular chest of drawers is stamped CH.MAP and were from an American airbase in England. This is a utilitarian item and the construction is made from solid wood but the standard is not too high. The drawers have lovely intergrated grab handles and some Scandinavian design influences. They have a very industrial look and a practical layout. The drawers have been cleaned down and refinished in a buffing waxes. This has helped enhance the original finish along with giving a nice deep shine to the reddish colour wood. The drawers and top do show signs of use and wear with some knocks and scratches. This is all part of the aged look and are free from damage and all drawers and mechanisms work fine. The overall condition is 7 out of 10 and these would make a stunning addition to anyones mid century themed home.
