This is a G Plan Sideboard from one of the earlier ranges prior to the popular fresco range. This cabinet dates from the early 60s and was around the same time of the Brasilia range. This sideboard is slightly higher than the traditional low and long format. This has wonderful brass inset grab handles and nice smooth teak veneers. This model is very rare and we have not seen another one for a while. As with most G Plan furniture, the build quality is extremely good. This mid century sideboard has very Danish influences with the minimal styling and sleeek design. There is a large double cupboard (with two adjustable shelves) next to a bank or two drawers that are topped by a drop down drinks cabinet. This is all on top of stunning solid afromosia turned legs. This has great proportions, stunning design and top quality craftsmanship. This all adds up to a stunning sideboard that will make a great impact to anyone’s retro themed home.
This sideboard is in stunning vintage condition, the cabinet has been completely stripped back and finished with a multiple layers shellac French polish. As with most mid century furniture, there will be signs of prior use, but nothing to detract from how fabulous this sideboard looks. There is very minimal signs of use and only noticeable defect is the slight light marks to the top. Overall this is a high 8.5 out of 10 for Condition. This is an impressive looking and well built peice of original mid century furniture.
