A very nice example of rare Sideboard from the Portsmouth Brand of White and Newton. This is the Rimington model, Designed by Arthur Edwards and dates from the 1960s. This is a long teak and birch Sideboard with stylish sleek metal handles. This is of high quality as are all White and Newton sideboards and its a very heavy solid item of furniture. The minimal styling and great lines with an industrial look makes this a very nice example of Danish influenced furniture from the mid century. The sideboard has 5 Slim line drawers with the top drawer lined in felt with five dividers. There is also a double birched lined cupboard with shaped shelves to allow storage of bottles or taller items.
This sideboard is in very good condition. It has been throughly cleaned and a wax polish over the original finish to enhance the wonderful grain and future protection. There are some signs of wear and marks to the top but these are all shown in the pictures. There is a slighty raised part of veneer shown in pictures. I Doesnt effect the sideboard. Overall this item is a 8.5 out of 10 and would look stunning in a mid century themed or contemporty home. As with most Mid Century items of furniture, there will be signs of prior use, surface scratches, fading etc. But nothing to detract from how stunning this item looks.
