This is an early example of a light oak mid century military issue sideboard. This was made by Remploy for the Ministry of Defence. The sideboard is constructed out of solid and veneered light oak and offers plenty of storage, with a double door fixed shelved cupboard and two good-sized drawers, one with a green baize. This would look and great in a kitchen or dining living area.
The sideboard has been cleaned down and refinished in a buffing wax. The cabinet does show signs of use and wear with a few knocks and scratches. The top shows a few blemishes but nothing to detract from its charm. This is all part of the used characteristics look but is free from major damage or defects.
